Au Bistrot du Peintre, a century-old Art Nouveau bistro located on Avenue Ledru-Rollin in the Bastille district, patrons enjoy authentic French cuisine in a charming, historically rich setting. Established in 1902, it is now owned by Hervé Bonal, who has been an integral part of the bistro since 1991, initially as a server and later as its manager and owner. After a comprehensive renovation in 2012 that preserved its signature Art Nouveau elements—such as the lighting fixtures, doors, woodwork, and mosaics—the bistro continues to offer a delightful dining experience steeped in tradition.
